  Freddie is just completing his first year in Nursery class this summer. We are very pleased to have chosen Ivy Schools as his first experience with school!

At the age of 2 ½ , he is starting to discover the world around him. Ivy Schools has helped in encouraging Freddie's curiosity and learning through the wide range of activities it provides.
  
  I am always struck by how upbeat and friendly everyone at Ivy Schools is, from the helpers at the gate, to office staffs and teachers – even those that are not from Freddie's class! It means a lot that the staffs remember children's names and always have a kind word to share with them. To Ako, Tina and the two Ms. Wang, our sincere appreciation for your patience and help in guiding and nurturing Freddie, making school into such a happy place for him.

• We feel very lucky that our daughter has been part of the Ivy family for 3 years. She began Nursery Class at Ivy Bilingual School at the age of 2 ½. Since the very first day, she has been delighted to get on the school bus every day.

  I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all the dedicated staff at Ivy Bilingual School Ocean Express Campus for yet another wonderful academic year for our daughter, Mirabelle.
  
  We feel very lucky that our daughter has been part of the Ivy family for 3 years. She began Nursery Class at Ivy Bilingual School at the age of 2 ½. Since the very first day, she has been delighted to get on the school bus every day.
  
  Ivy Schools' curriculum and environment really help foster our daughter's growth. She has been very fortunate to have a wonderful group of teachers, both foreign and Chinese, as well as a great diverse group of children in her classes every year. Mirabelle talks about her teachers every day, even during summer holiday! In fact, she's been using 'We Chat' to send audio messages back and forth from America with her beloved Chinese teacher assistant from Pre-K2 class this summer.....and the best thing is, they communicate in Chinese!!
  
  When Mirabelle first started at Ivy Schools, she didn't speak a word of Mandarin. After three years, we are thrilled that her Chinese teachers think she sounds like a real "Beijinger" now when she speaks Chinese. One of my favorite moments this year was on the day that I hosted a cooking class. When I walked into the classroom, Mirabelle was playing with one of her good friend, who is from Venezuelan, the two were communicating in the most comfortable language they have in common-- Mandarin. The learning of Chinese language was never forced on her. She started learning it because the atmosphere in the classroom made it fun. She wanted to learn it because she found it fascinating and interesting. She loves that now she has mastered this second language. The wonderful international community at Ivy Schools has been very beneficial in so many different respects. It has been a unique environment for our daughter to spend her early years in school. Mirabelle not only learned about China and its unique culture but she was also lucky enough to learn about cultures from around the world, including Great Britain, India, Australia, Europe and Russia...just to name a few! She can even recognize all the national flags of her friends' home countries and able to point them out, even I do not recall some of them! These friends Mirabelle has made will remain as dear friends for life, because they have shared all these special years together in the classroom.
  
  We are truly grateful for Ivy Schools' well-rounded program, the Multiple Intelligences curriculum that the school offers and the creative methods that Ivy teachers use all the time in all of the classes. Mirabelle took great pride in everything she learned and did in her classes, from the great recycling project, which they built a robot out of water bottles; to each and every one of her drawings....art and science projects she came home with; to the songs that she learned in both English and Chinese. Last but not least, the amazing graduation ceremony that the children put on every year! It's almost like a Broadway Show with the way it's designed, choreographed and directed. She is so lucky to have had such amazing first three years of school life.
  
  We are also very happy that Ivy teachers take time to tailor the curriculum according to students' individual needs and desires. Mirabelle's lead English teacher, Jenny, she knows that Mirabelle loves books. Jenny always spends time to read with Mirabelle and help perfect her memorization in words. She realized Mirabelle's interest in reading started earlier than others, and took the time to work on it with her every day. Now, Mirabelle is more than prepared to start her kindergarten's journey. She has been reading a lot more than other kids normally do at the age of 5.
  
  I don't think we could have dreamed of any better or more special pre-school experience for our daughter. It's very fortunate for us to have found Ivy Bilingual School.

• We would like to take this opportunity to thank you (Jeff), Mari and Grace and those at Ivy Academy who have made Ryan's schooling experience such a pleasant and memorable "adventure" for him as well as for us, his parents. I will call this an adventure because it has been exciting, thrilling and fulfilling.

I will call this an adventure because it has been exciting, thrilling and fulfilling.
  
  As we have shared before, we have always been apprehensive about how Ryan would adjust to school here in Beijing, being in a new country, new culture, and new routine and new friends. We were pleasantly surprised by how well he has taken to you and the rest of the staff as well as to his classmates.
  
  We have definitely seen much progress in his development, his keenness to explore and learn and his unquenchable thirst and curiosity with all things around him, often times, to our horror (especially when he became overly adventurous at our playground) but his retort "But in school, I can do this …." Or "Jeff said I can do this..." sometimes made us rethink whether we have been overly protective or even curbing his curiosity with our constant "NO's" or "Don't Do That!" Hence, it has been an adventure and learning experience for us as well.
  
  We have also noticed that Ryan is developing in a more well-rounded way since coming to Beijing. Ryan has always been a talkative and super active, "Always on the move, butt on fire" kind of boy. We are glad that all these traits have not been inhibited, but instead being channeled into something constructive, interesting and educational for him. His constant and daily need to bring a toy and getting ready for his "show and tell" session is a testament of how excited he is about going to school. We are constantly and eagerly looking out for the online weekly journals because we enjoy laughing at the pictures of him in class, carrying out various activities from playing, learning, painting, socializing and oh yes…cooking.
  
  The recent Art Show over the weekend made us, and I believe every parent that were there, very proud of our little ones. What we saw was not only the handiwork of our children, but also the hard work, commitment, conviction, patience and encouragement of the teachers.
  
  Again, we would like to thank you once again for everything you, your fellow teachers, and staff have done for Ryan.
